This is a husband/wife team made up of mostly 1040s but there are a number of 1120, 1120S, partnerships, and trusts. There is some QuickBooks accounting work associated with the tax returns. There is no real niche for the practice; the clientele is very general. The client base is not localized in Marin. The practice was moved from San Francisco about 10 years ago with no client loss. Clients are mostly in the Bay Area but some out of State. The hourly rate is $200/hr on the high side and $80hr as the minimum. The 1040 base is very stable and some clients are anxious to provide referrals. The clients are conservative from a tax view point and would be open to more planning or hand holding. This CPA provides a very personal service and the clients appreciate the attention.
